Ever Wonder Why Your Cat Sniffs… Then Walks Away?

You pour food into the bowl.
Your cat comes over, sniffs… and leaves.

It’s frustrating—but surprisingly common.

Most pet owners think it’s about taste.
But often, it’s something much simpler:

The size of the food.

Why Size Matters More Than You Think

Cats are natural hunters.

In the wild, they don’t eat large chunks of food—they consume small, bite-sized prey that are easy to chew, tear, and swallow.

When food pieces are:

● Too big → they struggle to bite

● Too hard → they lose interest

● Too awkward → they simply walk away

That’s why bite size directly affects acceptance.

The Science Behind the 0.8cm Cube

At around 0.8cm, something interesting happens:

● Small enough for easy chewing

● Big enough to give a satisfying crunch

● Perfect for cats’ jaw structure

It’s not too tiny to lose texture,
and not too big to become a struggle.

It sits right in that “just nice” zone for cats.

Designed for Real Eating Behavior

Instead of forcing pets to adapt to food…

The better approach is:

Design food that fits how pets naturally eat.

With 0.8cm cubes, you’ll notice:

● Cats chew more comfortably

● Less dropping food outside the bowl

● More consistent eating habits

● Higher acceptance for picky eaters

What About Dogs?

While this size is optimized for cats, it also works surprisingly well for dogs—especially:

● Small breed dogs

● Training sessions (perfect reward size)

● Quick, frequent treating

The cube is:

● Easy to portion

● Not too filling

● Great for repeated rewards

Why Size + Texture Changes Everything

When combined with freeze-dried texture, the experience becomes even better:

● Light, airy crunch (not rock hard)

● Breaks easily when bitten

● Retains natural aroma that attracts pets

So it’s not just about size—
it’s about how size works together with texture.

A Small Detail That Makes a Big Difference

At SeafoodBuddy, the 0.8cm cube wasn’t random.

It came from observing something simple:

Pets don’t reject food because they’re picky.
Sometimes, it just doesn’t feel right to eat.

By refining something as small as bite size, feeding becomes:

● Easier

● More natural

● More enjoyable

For Pets That Deserve Better

Because feeding isn’t just about filling a bowl.

It’s about:

● Understanding their behavior

● Respecting their instincts

● Making small improvements that matter

And sometimes, the difference between
“not interested” and “can’t get enough”

…is just 0.8cm.
